OCEAN YACHT RACE

,On Saturday and yesterday the Port Nicholson Yacht Club held its annual ocean yacht race. The course was from Clyde-quay Wharf to Port Underwood and back to the wharf. Good weather was experienced throughout the race, and at Port Underwood the Atalanta, Kotiri, and White Heather were becalmec 1 for a considerable time. -The starters were Messrs. G. Hallan and A. Jordan, and the judges were Messrs. H. Hardham and A. E. Petherick. The lolanthe Jlast year's winner) was again successful. The race started at 2.5 p.m. on Saturday, when the Waitangi Bailed. Following are the detailed results: —
G. M'Lean's lolanthe (6 hours); returned at 7,17 a.m. yesterday; corrected time, 1,17 a.m., I.
Bawell' and Smith's Waitangi (gcr), returned at 1.43 a.m., yesterday, 2. C. Beaumont's Atalarita (3^ hours), returned at 6.46 a.m. ; corrected time, 3.40 a.m.., 3.
