Levin and Weraroa. The above gentleman's businesses at Levin and Weraroa are truly representative of the commercial prosperity of that vast expanse of country that lies between the Empire City . and Palmerston North. Mr.,.Broome has been in business a little over ten years at Weraroa, and about two years ago extended operations to Levin town, where he purchased the fine brick building and general store business of Messrs. Haswell Bros., situated in Oxford-street, the principal business centre of Levin. He also purchased Milne's Store business in the town shortly afterwards, and transferred the stock to Haswell's. Mr. Broome lias shown considerable enterprise in this business venture, and suffice it to say he controls practically the whole grocery and general store business throughout Levin and the district for many miles around. A QUESTION OF PRICE. It. is no idle boast on the part of Mr, Broome that ho can, and does, sell as j cheap or cheaper than any retailer in the grocery line in the Dominion. -Prices in plain figures prove his contention up to the hilt, and this should be of particular interest to farmers and householders, especially at the present time.
