LONDON, 13th November

Mr. and Mrs. Moss Davis, late of Auckland, entertained at the Metropole Hotel, Brighton, 30 officers of the N.Z.E.F., who are staying at the local convalescent home. Their guests also included the matron and some of the sisters from .the home.

Mrs: Corrigan (Auckland) spent the summer--in the Isle of Wight with her daughter, Miss Lascelles Corrigan,. who is at present at school in Lewes. Mrs. Eorrigan has come up to London to be near her son, Lieut. L. P. Leary, M.C., R.F.A., who is on light duty at Woolwich, after having been wounded, and laid up witb trench fever.

At Leeds, on 23rd October, the wedding took place of Mr. Sydney T. Stidolp'n (Wellington), to Miss Nellie Richardson, of 18, Spencer-place, Leeds. Mr. Stidolph was a- member of 'the British section of the N.Z.E.F., and was on Gallipoli from April to October, 19lS, when he was invalided to Malta with enteric. Returning to New Zealand, at the beginning of 1916, Mr. Stidolph was discharged medically unfit. Ho came came to England and tried for" the R.F.C., but was still not sufficiently fit, but he was appointed examiner in .the aeronautical inspection, department. This position he held until October last, when he was accepted for the R.F.C., and is now taking his cadet course at Halton Park, On Ist November, at St. Mary Abbot's Church, Kensington, Lt. Montagu. Steele, N.Z.E.F., youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Steele, of Auckland, was married to Grace Isobel, youngest daughter of Col, Gj&orge ■ Hutcheson, M.D., late I.M.S. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Canon Steele, rector of St. Mark's. Tey, 'and uncle of the bridegroom. . 30th 'November, Capt, Colin M, Gilray, son of Professor Gilray, Dffledin, was married at the Parish Church, Haslemere, on 24th November, by the Rev. W. Wragge, to Ethel Muriel,' daughter 'of the late Arthur Standish, of New Plymouth. I Tlu^marriagiVor'MaJbr F. A. Hellaby, M.C., youngest eon of Mrs. Pi-. Hellaby and the late Mr. Richard Hellaby, of Auckland, and Miss Mavis Reed, elder daughter of Mr. J. R. Reed, K.C., and Mrs. Reed, of Remuera, Auckland, was celebrated at Christ' 6 Church, Lancaster Gate, London W., on 6th September. Major R, Reed (uncle) gave the bride away, while Lt. J. Hellaby was best man.

The engagements announced include that of Mr. Neville" Gilbert, N.Z.E.F., and Miss A. Muriel Watson, third daughter of Mr. J. A. Watson, J.P., and Mrs. Watson, of Chadwiek Manof, Knowle. Mr. Gilbert belongs to Woodville. ■ Alao that of Gant. John wBrigfil, W.M.R., attached _to the 2nd Aniac Headquarters, to Miss Jeannette B. James, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Arthur C. IK-. James, of Jamaica, and Mrs." James, 5, Cumberland Gate, Kew Gardens, and niece of' Sir Evan James, Glejieheo, Twickenham. Leave permitting, the wedding will take place at an early date.
