Algerian oats are almost the only variety offering, and 4s there is a- good demand sales are not difficult to effect. - Most of the sales are taking place at about 8s at country/ stations, and a large prime line fit for seed has bejn taken at 3s 2d at country station. There has been a fairly large quantity of grass seed changing hands as on account of the doubtful weather some buyers have been anxious to secure supplies. The price is a little firmer, and for 231b to 261b 3s to 3s 6d at country stations has been paid and a little more for prime heavy, seed. . Lighter seed is worth from 2s to 2a 9d. Some business is being done at about £4 at countTy stations for new oatsheaf chafr. ... Blenheim chaff is being held up on account of the great scarcity of steam coal in the district at present, and threshing is being delayed on the same account.
