A half-draught horse, the property of Mr. J. Fyfe, mills vendor, of Mirwnar,. and value y d at from £16 to £20, was killed by* a tramcar at about half-past ten on Saturday night. Wie horse and another were grazing on a strip of grassbetween the track and tie 'wire fence - on, the -westfirn side of the Miramaravenue. Just as the car was about to ' passHhe animal backed on %o the track, and received the full impact of the car. on its side, being very badly gached and dying about ten minutes later. The! motorman (of car 117) said that, he did npt-se^ the horse' until the tram was; within a few feet of it, and therefore" he had no chance ot stopping,in time; to avoid the' collision. : "
