RUSSIA &THE ENTENTE
COMMENTS ON KERENSKY'S STATEMENT "NOT- TREMENDOUSLY IMPORTANT." (REOTBR'B TELEGRAM.) WASHINGTON, 3rd Novomebr. Mr. Lansing, Secretary of State, in an authorised statement, deplored any interpretation of the Kerensky interview that Russia was out of the war permanently. Iri Allied diplomatic circles M. Kerensky's statement is not regarded ac tremendously important, because it merely sets down what everyone knew was the condition. There was no ground for believing that Russia was deserting the Entente, but rather thai ehe was trying manfully to solve her own problems. [The interview referred to vtaa briefly reported on Saturday as follows:—M. Kerensky states that Russia entered the war early, and is now worn out with the strain. Russia claimed that the other Allies ought to shoulder the burden of j the war.]
