INCREASE IN HARBOUR FERRY FARES

Day, Town Clerk of the Eastbourne Borough Council, in conversation with a Post reporter to-day, ''has increased by> £1500 per year on account of the war, and other expenses have risen accordingly." In view of the increased cost of running and main.tena.pce, the Eastbourne Bcrrbu^h Council, at iis meeting on Friday, decided to Taiso the ferry eteainer fares. The increase -will foko place as from Ist October, when the adult xotuTn ticket will cost Is 3d instead of Is as at present, and the single ticket from 6d to 9d. There will be no increase in the rates for children.
