GUNS ACTIVE ALONG THE WHOLE FRONT

The enemy fought with great determination, but were not successful in regaining the Tower Hamlets ridge. Our fire prevented an attempted raid in the neighbourhood of the Arras-Oambrai road: We made a successful raid east of Monchy-le-Preux. _ There was great aerial activity yesterday, our aeroplanes ranging their guns on hostile batteries, troops, trenches, and shell-holes. Low-flying machines harassed the enemy's infantry and transports. Masses of bombs were dropped ■''on Roulerv Menin, and elsewhere. This afternoon four tons of bombs were dropped on Roulers station and an aerodrome, and billets, m, the vicinity-ot Lille! Eighteen enemy aeroplanes were brought down, and twelve of ours are missing.
