TRIBUTE TO AUSTRALIANS
m SPLENDID BATTLE CONDITION. ■
(Received September 24, 8 a.m.)
_ LONDON, 23rd September. Mi. Gilmour, special correspondent at the .-front for. the Australian and New Zealand Press Association, pays a tribute to the fighting of the Australians. The Australian Army, he says, was never in such splendid battle condition. Impetuous dash, combined with perfect training, was the feature of their victorious advance, which was • marked by extraordinary and intelligent restraint on the part of the officers and cohesion and strict discipline among the men. He adds: "It cannot yet be said that our artillery is overwhelmingly predominant. Much is left to the infantry to accomplish."
