GIFT RECITAL".
In connection with the Gift Eecital to be held in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall on Saturday next, at 2 p.m., in aid of Thorndon Day Red Cross Funds, there will be a distribution of •urpnse envelopes in the streets tomorrow (Tuesday) and Wednesday. Many valuable prizes will be 1 offered, and the organisers promise no blanks. For Saturday's entertainment an attractive programme has been arranged, including danoes by some pupila of Miss Estelle Beere. Mrs. ?. J. Nathan's contribution of "Allied Fairy Tales" will be of particular interest to the younger set, her ability as an elocutionist' and entertainer being widely known. Mr. Eugene Ossipoff will also assist. The afternoon has every promise of being a brilliant success. Then, too, there is the Allied Soldires' Gift Tree, a feature of which will be dolls dressed in Allied costumes. The valuable contents of the surprise packets are demonstrated by the display of a, few of them in the Bristol windows.
