SUBMARINE SCARE
CONFLICTING REPORTS IN AMERICA.
, (Received September 17, 8.20 a.m.) NEW YORK, 16th September. I There are conflicting reports of a submarine scare. Some stories assert that destroyers are scouring the coast, others that ships were recently warned to keep a lookout for a submarine with dummy funnels, .masts and superstructure.. The New York Times hints that it.is. possible that the scare is a German hoax."
