The following war decorations will be conferred by His Excellency the Gov-ernor-General at a parade to be held at Auckland on Tuesday evening next : Mrs. Powley, wife of Captain Powley, receives the Military Cross on behalf of her husband, who was killed in action ; Mrs. Boyd, wife of Captain Boyd, N.Z.M.C., at present on his way to Egypt, receives the Military Cross on behalf of her husband; Mrs. Ban-kin, mother of the late Sergeant J. Bankin, N.Z.F.A., receives the D.C.M., won by her son on Gallipoli; Mr. B. G. Gault, of Ponsonby, receives the Serbian Medal, awarded to his son, Private A. Gault; Trooper N. D. Champney, of Whangarei, receives the Serbian Silver Medal; Private W. H. Butler, of Te Kauwhata, receives the Military Medal; Sergeant S. G. S. Lock, of Devonport, receives the Military Medal; Sergeant J. N. Beattie, of Bemuera, receives the Meritorious Service Medal. On 29th August, at 11 a.m.. Messrs. Griffiths and Co., Ltd., will sell on the middle floor of the "P" Store building, Queen's Wharf approach, on behalf of tho Wellington Harbour Board, a. largo quantity of unclaimed goods, genera.l merchandise luggage, etc. Tho chemical goods may bo inspected on 28th and 29th August, from 9 a.m. until 10.30, in the dangerous goods store, near Glasgow Wharf. Samples of bonded goods will be on view •at the "P" Shed on day of sale. _ Tho chemical goods ajid bonded goods will be sold at 2 p.m. at the "V' Store. At a meeting of the executive of the Aolea Convalescent Home it was reported, that the following packages had been received since 'the- previous meeting :— One case of clothing and iour^ cases of Christmas parcels, from Lady Liverpool's Fund, Masterton : three cases effects, from St. John Ambulance, Wellington ; oiie case of clothing, from Mayoress's Patriotic Committee, Palmerston North; one case of clothing, from Carterton Women's Patriotic Society; two cases of Christmas parcels, from Wangauiul Patriotic Society, six cases, containing 300 Christmas puddings, from Wellington Meat.
