EASTBOURNE BOROUGH COUNCIL

The monthly meeting of the Eastbourne 3orough Council was held last evening. There were present: the Mayor (Mr. P. ievi) and Councillors Bennett, Cook, Rusell, Shand, Chitty, Morris, Macpherson, md Marquis. An application from a resident of Allentreet for permission to lay a pipe under he footpath to carry off storm water was eferred to the Works Committee. With regard to a circular letter from he-Napier Borough Council regarding ho control of foodstuffs, it was decided hat the matter lay outside the council's irovince. A circular letter was received from the Sinister of Finance drawing attention o the Liberty Loan. It was resolved to lo the utmost to help the loan and to Dunsel the residents of Eastbourne to do he same. An application from Mr. A. Mee to rect a boatshed on the beach near the tecreation Ground was declined. A notice of motion by Councillor Maruis to amend the scale of charges for eason tickets was held over.
