"ALL'S WELL WITH THE NAVY"

COLONEL REPINGTON'S VISIT

HIGH EFFICIENCY OF THE FLEET

(PUBLISHED IN THE TIMES.)

LONDON, 15th August. Colonel Repington, after a visit to the Grand Fleet, writes : "All is well' with the Navy. Its'efficiency is one hundred per cent." higher than it was at the outbreak of the war, and fifty per cent, better than it was at the Battle of Jutland. The battleships are in first-rats order, and there are no signs of wear and tear. This is high testimony to the unceasing vigilance of the dockyards, considering that 20,000 naval units have been repaired since 1914. The health of the naval men is superb. The men are contented and good-humoured. Our Navy is now an incomparably superior instrument, and if fortune offers us with another Fleet action no one can doubt the result.
