(AtSTRAMAN-NBW ZEALAND CABII AB3OCIATION.) ) LONDON, 12th August. Mr. Barnes has been offered a place in the War Cabinet in succession to Mr. Henderson, but has asked for time to consider the offer. His acceptance, with the unanimous approval of his Labour colleagues in the Cabinet, is considered certain.
Mr. Henderson's statement in the House of Commons on 13th August is anxiously awaited. A leading Minister. suggests that only a General Election will solve a serious crisis.
