CITY MILK SUPPLY

Last week a conference was held between' milk suppliers, milk vendors, and the Mayor and Public Health Committee of the City Council, when matters in relation to the city milk supply and the threatened shortage were discussed. Last night the Mayor (Mr. J. V. Luke, C.M.G) and Councillor R. A. Wright, chairman of the Public Health Committee again met representatives of the dairy, farmers and vendors, and considered a number of points that had arisen at the previous conference in relation to the production of milk, its carriage to the city, and the price to be paid, having regard to the competition for supplies now operating. The information obtained by the Mayor and Councillor Wright was of considerable importance, and will assist in the assessment of conditions that will arise out of the municipal control of the supply.
