THE NEW OFFENSIVE
SIR DOUGLAS HAIG'S REPORT,
(Received August 1, 3.30 p.m.)
LONDON, 31st July.
Sir Douglas Haig reports in conjunction with a French operation on our left, we attacked at 3.60 o'clock this morning on a wide front northward of the River Ly6. The 'Allies captured the first objectives on. the whole front attacked, and are reported to be progressing satisfactorily at all points.
