CUSTOMS RETURNS
Customs' returns amounting to £94,----590 13s lid were received at Wellington during the past month. The figures, although not comparing very favourably with the amount received in July, 1916, viz., £114,494 8s 2d, still represent a big increase over the returns for June of this year, which, were £67,510 13s 4d. The beer duty for the past month amounted to £1504 16s 9d, an increase of about £3 over the iigures for 1916. :
