DTJNEDIN, 7th June. . The coastal steamer -Kotare, while berthing at Curry's Wharf at Waikawa' yesterday morning, struck the ground) and as-a result sprang a leak The vessel berthed without'difficulty. . Later" it was found that she had made about one foot of water. Captain. Harming at first reported the vessel as not having sustained any serious damage, but an examination of the hull at low water revealed the fact that the steameT had her keelson broken amidships. The- Kotare now lies on a level bottom.. The hold, is full of' water.
Latest advice, from the master indicates that with suitable' pumps the vessel can be refloated.
