NEW (MACMAHON'S) THEATRE.
"Seventeen," now showing at the New Theatre, will receive its final screening to-night. "THE EVIL EYE." Commencing to-morrow, "The Evil Eye," featuring tho favourite Lasky star, Blanche Sweet, will beshown. This is a .tense story of an American woman doctor's adventure among the superstitious Mexicans. Ivatherine Torrance, a young and beautiful physician, is sent to cope with an epidemic at the vineyards of which Leonard Sheldon is the manager. The superstitious Mexicans believe, when the disease spreads • despite the efforts of the lady doctor, that she is responsible. An agitation is aroused against ■ Katherine, who has meanwhile fallen in love with Sheldon and he with her. How they meet difficulties together, and finally attain happiness, is told in a thrilling and romantic story. The supporting pictures are excellent..
