Mr. H. Dibley, Island .Bay,, has been advised that his son, Private A. Douglas Dibley, who went away,with Reinforcements eighteen months ago-to-day, is seriously ill in St. Omer Military Hospital, France, suffering from cerebrospinal meningitis. Private Dibley, who is a native of Wellington, was an'the last vessel to leave Gallipoli. He was afterwards in Egypt, and was at the capture of El Arish and Gaza. The message announcing his illness was the first intimation received in Wellington that he had gone to France.
