THE ATHOS
HAD TROOPS ON BOARD.

WASHINGTON, 23rd February: The United States Consul at Malta, reported that it is understood that there ■were troops aboard the Athos, sunk by a submarine near Malta. The submarine snowed no flag and no number, and did not warn the Athos before torpedoingher.
