The following happy verses are taken from the "Erin Echo," the monthly journal published by tho men of H.M.S.'Erin. Their breezy character marks them as tho work of a'sailor: — Hans Heiliberg voss braver more Dan any man der voss. ill by himself he burn a church, . Undt gets der Iron Cross. Some vomen undt some, children, too, Anoder day he shot, ' Undf so, for making frightfulncss, Unce more der Cross he got. Ho flow to England yon dark night, Anoder Cross to yin, Undt -killdt some vomen rait a bomb, DropUt from a Zeppelin. For hiding in a.Maxim gun, . . Insidb an ambulance, An extra large sizo Cross he won, Der noble-minded Hans. Heivent into a,cellar vonce, Mit comrades eight or nine, ' Undt got der Iron Cross again, For trinking allder-viniy.' ■ . . ' So vinning Crosses all der day, : He vent his kultured vay; His chest voss covered up mit dern, Ho yon dem twice a day. Undt yen he had no room for more, Ho hung dem on his back, ' Undt also down his trouser-legs, Undt in his haversack. • • ■ Ontil beneath der load he fell (Der veight voss tons undt tons), Undt so.to Krupp's. dey took him schnell, UNDT.MADE.
