10 THE EDITOR. Sir, —Is there no protection for respectable young girls in this city ofours ? It seems no one is safe now coming home, even if it is only a little after nine o'clock. ■ Just a little while ago two of my daughters were chased quite a long way, and two young ladies, friends of theirs, were each separately assaulted , by/ strange men, in a fairly public place. .This is only one of many occurrences'lately Is there no remedy for this? Girls are forced to come home alone from their work, and, no matter how careful, cannot always remain indoors in the evening. Surely our police might spare a little more.time to the. quieter parts of the suburbs.—l ,am, etc.,. '...''
