Sir Douglas Haig reports: We seized a portion of the.enemy's trenches northeast of Gueudecourt. ' We entered the German trendies on 650 yards of front south of A'rmentieres, penetrating deeply and inflicting many casualties. Southeast of ifpres we raided the enemy's lines on 500 yards of front, reaching the support .lines.
