NEW PLYMOUTH, 22nd Feb. As an outcome of an announcement by the Harbour Board that. the New Plymouth harbour is ready to receive overseas shipping, based •on Captain Chudley's report of the result of soundings, a largely-attended public meeting held to-night, the Mayor presiding, affirmed the ad_visableness of fomiing a coastal shipping .company.A committee was sot up to gather data relative to, the size and scope of the proposed company. The meeting was representative both, of ■ business and, farming interests, and. arrived.;, at aunanimous decision. The board proposes to erect suitable storage sheds on the wharf. ' ' ■ :
