, A very largely attended ' meeting of ithe_ Wellington Waterside Workers' ■ Union was held last evening, Mr. L. Glover being in the chair Opportunity was taken to accord a hearty welcome to Mr. C. Weaver, president of the Auckland Union, who, is at present on a visit to Wellington. The proposal of the Government to take over control of the wharves and the regulations regarding waterside Work were discussed at considerable length, but no finality was reached. Another meeting is to be called, probably for Tuesday next, when the matters will again be discussed.
