V.M.C.A.
Last evening some 85 ecouts of the V.M.C.A. Troop spent a. very enjoyable time at their first "Pound Night" of the year, which was held at the V.M.C.A. Rooms. The lads moved smartly to the pipe of the whistle, showing- that discipline is properly maintained, a. point which is most essential to the successful working of a troop. The district, commander (Mr. B. Doukin) pre3entetl badges to the successful candidates. Mr. Hurne, the boys' work director, gave a short address to tho lads, and the rest of the evening was given over to some enjoyable musical items, contributed by some, of the scouts and friends. Light refreshments were handed round, <md n most successful evening- was brought to a close- with the singing of the National Anthem.
