CRICKET
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION.
At a meeting of the Wellington Gricl«ii Association last night there were present j Messrs, C. G. Wilson (in the chair), A., ,j A. George, F. A. Midlane, V. B' ; Willis, Howitt, and Ml J. Crombie.
A letter was read, from the : City Council stating thai the association's application for permission to charge for admission to the Basin Reserve oh 3rd and 10th February had been granted. Tho , Trenthani Camp Cricket J Club' forwarded an explanation as to their failure to fulfil a fixture oh 20th January. The club said thafu difficulty, over train-, transit was the reason. The communication added that owing to tho difficulties' encountered in a camp like Trentham the team would forthwith withdraw from the competition. It was resolved to accept the resignation with i-egret, and to . thank the. Camp. Commandant and the Gamp Adjutant for the assistance they had given the Cricket Association.
Applications to transfer. Macki& and Anderson, of .the North Club,.from the Senior to the junior ranks were granted. In. view, of the defaults of the Treiithahiteain; three-point wins were awarded to North, University, and Old Boys; The Trentham-tTniversity fixture,, setdown for the coming Saturday will, o£- ( course, not. be played.
The "Petorie-Old Boys match will be played-on the- Basin Reserve on Saturday. "-*
