OPPOSITION AT ITS LAST GASP

FEARS OF GREEKS BEING ALLAYED

(Received September 6, 8.40 a.m.) A ATHENS, sth September.

Mr. W. Jeffries states that an announcement has been made that the Allies are only acting against Germans and pro-Germans. This has had the effect of tranquilising the fears of the Greeks.

The opinion is increasing that Greece will shortly join the Allies. The Opposition Party is at its last gasp. . That there will be complete mobilisation of the Greek Army is doubtful, but probably a small force will be organised, and gradually strengthened. Should Bulgaria make separate peace, the Greek military preparations will be continued against Turkey.
