EMPRESS THEATRE.
"The Fighting Chance," by Robert W. Chambers, *was presented at the Empress Theatre this morning to an enthusiastic audience. The photo-drama follows the novel closely, and empliasises the stirring situations depicted in. the book. That powerful actor, E. K. Lincoln, takes the part of Stephen Siward, the victim of drink, who falls to the lowest depths and becomes a social pariah, but is given a "fighting chance" of winning the girl of his heart. The story leaves a wholesome impression, and a belief in the goodness of humanity. The supporting 1 programme includes a funny Vitagraph comedy, in which is featured Mr. Frank Daniels in " Mr. Jack—Hash Magnate," " Help for Those in Need," the French official war film, and the Topical Gazette.
