Several first-offending inebriates were dealt with in thes Magistrate's Court today before Mr. __„' G: Reid/S.M. Chas. A. Tomlinson, who had several previous convictions against him, had his bail (£3) estreated. William Hunter was mulct in a penalty of 20s, with the alternative of serving seven day's, in'gaol; while in the case of George William Jackson the fine was 10s, in default three days' imprisonment. ' ' " , Agnes Wylie, alias Hogg, was charged with being an incorrigible rogue in that she habitually consorted with prostitutes. The case vras adjourned till to-morrow morning in order to enable Morrisey to call evidence. Newman Coffey was charged with theft of a piece of1 timber, valued at 4s, the property of the City Council. On the application of Inspector Hendrey the accused was remanded till 28th instant. Bail was allowed. At Petone yesterday morning, before Messrs. J. W. M'Ewan and Alf. Coles, J.P.'s., a prohibition' order.was, on the application of the police, issued against Pearl Blair, to,apply for twelvemonths in the Wellington and Hutt districts.
