THE NEW BRITISH LOAN

(Received August 17, 8.50 a.m.) NEW YORK. 16th August. The new British loan is of 250 million dollars (about £50,000,000), with a currency of two years, at 5 per Cent. (Received August 17, 11.50 a.m.) NEW YOEK, 16th August. J. P. Morgan and Co. announce the details of the loan. It is dated Ist September, and Britain has the option to redeem whole or part at thirty days' notice, at 101, plus accrued interest, until the 31st August, 1917 ; thereafter at 100. J. Securities for 300 million dollars must be approved by Morgans. It is understood the loan is chiefly steady on the Exchange.
