MUST BE SAVED AT ALL COSTS
BAD WEATHER ON WEST FRONT
esenerat Bothmer's retreat in Galicia Has been in full swing for several days, and there is much, speculation in Petrogxad as to whether hccan avoid disaster. Much depends on the enemy's ability to hold Halicz, due north of Stanislau, ou which the Russians are concentrating. They have crossed the Zlota Lipa, to the east of the town. 'Axistria's condition is giving Germany much concern, and the Neve .Freie Press declares she must be saved, even if Germany has to take over political as well as military control of the country. Peace overtures from Bulgaria and Turkey are reported to have been refused by the Entente, and once again a message is published stating that Rumania is on the eve of a decision in favour of the 'Allies. In the West the Germans have again bombarded Reims, killing sis civilians; Bad weather is hampering operations, but the British have succeeded in retaking nearly all the trenches lost on Sunday north-west of Pozieres.
