CHRISTCHURCH, This Day
The 16th Reinforcements had an enthusiastic reception on their march through the city to-day. The town was full of holiday-makers for the Grand National Meeting. The streets were lined with thousands of cheering people. The troops marched from the station to A rictoria-square, where they were briefly addressed by the Mayor and Col. Chaffey. They then marched back to the train and were sent South.
