SOLDIERS' HOSTEL
The Soldiers' Hostel ("Ennismore House," next to the Albert Hotel, in Bbulcott-street), being provided by the V.M.C.'A.,. should be ready for occupation in about a fortnight's time. It is to be placed in the hands of a matron, with a suitable staff. The men wall be accommodated with bed and breakfast, for which they will be charged minimum rates, but it is not anticipated that,the institution will pay its own way. The. premises are highly suitable for the purpose. There being some twenty rooms, itis lioped that sleeping accommodation will be provided for some 60 men, each in a separate single bed or stretcher. The _ hall is to be converted into a spacious, well-lighted lounge, and the sitting-room, in front can be extended by means of folding doors into quite a large apartment, at thf rear end of "which it is proposed tte establish a buffet, where soldiers may^get a snack when in need of it. There-is amplo bathroom accommodation, and all the bedrooms are light and airy. The special advantage is that the place .is ceniral, and within view of all passers-by from the corner of Manners and Willis streets.
