SWITZERLAND & GERMANY
TROUBLE ABOUT COTTON AND COAL. BERNE, 28th June. A grave situation has arisen between Switzerland and Germany through Germany demanding delivery of merchandise —chiefly cotton goods—which the Swiss Government has detained. Germany threatens that she will not send coal supplies, 12,000 tons of which, are delivered in Switzerland every day.
