SENSATIONAL EVIDENCE BY MR PEMBERTON BILLING.

LONDON, 24th June. Mr. Pemberton Billing, M.P., giving evidence at the Air Enquiry, alleged that naval airmen who assisted an officer of the Royal Flying Corps who had fallen into the sea- were reprimanded by their commanding officer. The latter had said that the Royal Flying Corps men had no right to fly over the sea, and added : " If they fall in, let them drown," and ordered one aviator six days' extra duty because he seemed so fond of work.

Mr. Pemberton Billing added that on the occasion of one^Zeppelin raid, many aviators were ordered to go up, 75 per cent. _ being killed, and many of the machines being smashed.
