PATRIOTIC ART UNIONS
Seven bronze statuettes of the late Earl Kitchener (2), Sir J. JelKcoe, General Sir Louis. Botha, and three others, presented by members of the Commercial Travellers' Association, aye offered as prizes in a patriotic art union. The secretary of the art union (Mr. A. J. Carlton) guarantees ■that the entire amount collected will be cabled Home'to the dependents of the", heroes of the North Sea battle, no deduction being made whatsoever. Tickets are being sold at Is each. . Books of 20 (or single tickets) can be obtained from the secretary, Box 206, Wellington. The art union will be drawn at 8 p.m. on 10th July.
Another opportunity is presented to those who cannot go to fight- the foe to do a little in return. It is only a little —a trifle—a shilling: or two to aid the building of a. soldiers and sailors' club on the M'Hardy gift section, Paimerston 2\orth. A number of farmers have pro,vided 2200 sheep for disposal by ail union, and tickets are now for sale at the modest sum of one shilling each. The prizes amount 'to £2200, the first being 1000 sheep. In this issue appears an advertisement giving fuller particulars of the Anzac Art Union. It also contains a coupon, which should be iilkd up and forwarded with remittance to the secretary of the,, committee at Palrnerstoh North. Tlie dat-e of drawing has. not yet been announced. .
