POSITION IS UNCHANGED
(Received June 17, 2.30 p.m.)
LONDON, 16th June.
Official: Tlie situation in Mesopotamia is unchanged. Our trenches have been advanced within two hundred yards of Sarmaiyali. We have occupied an advanced position on Uic. south bank. The Turkish artillery sank three barges. The latter incident apparently is the
basis for the imaginative Turkish com munique of the 15th.
