TRENTHAM SOCIAL HALL
DONATION OF j£loo RECEIVED.
The effort of the Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J. P. Luke) to raise £500 to provide a Soldiers' Club in Trentham, the same as at Featherston, was given a definite lift to-day, when Messrs. S. Staples and Co., the well-known AA'el lington brewers, forwarded a cheque for £100^ towards-that purposes. Mr. Luke has received £5 from Mr. G. B. Tolhurst, and ('now 'requires £300 to complete the total. The Soldiers' Club at Featherston was provided by AVairaiapa residents, with the assistance of the Government, and- is such a line building, that it is hoped that Wellington citizens will supply a similar one for Trentham on the same terms, which Mr. Luke has secured.
