TRACKWORK AT ELLERSLIE

The weather was fine and tho tracks very heavy for training operations at Ellerslie to-day. . The bulk of the work was dono in tho middle grass. Before breakfast Loloma, with tho assistance of Vinaka over the- last four, ran Bix furlongs in lmin 21 3-ssec. Castalia did tho same distance in lmin 22sec. Soultikoff easily beat Tragedy King over a round in lmin 55 l-sscc. After breakfast Itoyal Chef galloped Jour furlongs in 51 l-ssec. Tattcrley, heavily rugged, did five in lmin 7 2-ssec. Marimba went better than Multiplication over four furlongs in 52 3-ssec. Auroro and Fisher were together at the end of six furlongs, left behind in lmin 25 l-ssec. Bisogne and Hushman finished on terms at the end of four furlongs in 52sec. Multiply be.it Signo over a round in lmin 57 2-ssec. Hyginas, Kitty Bellairs, and Tepapapa finished in that order at the end of five furlongs in lmin 6sec. El Ga-110 and Glissando went once round, tho last six furlongs taking lmin 23 2-ssec. Ladogeur easily beat Gold Lac over seven furlongs in lmin 21 2-ssec. Pursefiller and Gladful finished together and Harbour Light a dozen lengths a-way at the end of a gallop over seven hurdles. Sam Pan and Idealism were schooled over the big country. The latter fell at the second fence of the double, but was afterwards remounted and jumped safely. Waima-i, Captain Jack, and Flingot jumped the big fences ; the latter was a bit slow. Westerly and Te Onga jumped the big fences; the latter tried to stop at the old water jump and went through the obstacles into the ditch on the other side. Neither horse nor rider was hurt. A lot of others were also exercised.
