This ancient discussion was revived by a well-known monthly magazine recently, and with the usual result—the debaters arrived nowhere. But one point was candidly admitted by both sides—i.e., that women have a greater call upon their nervous forces than men. By force of circumstances arid nature, women in their housework and their maternal cares are under more frequent stTain and are more liable to fall victims to that far too common "ailment of modern times, a nervous breakdown, than men are. And in how many thousands of cases is nervous breakdown not due to the fact that , they have allowed their body and their nerve centres to'become starved?
