EMPRESS THEATRE.
The Empress Theatre, with the magnetic attraction, "Lights o'London" draws large crowds to each session. The play is one of the best of the English melodramas. The story is simple and full of sweetness. There are no artificialities, no unusual characterisation. It is first and last a story of an enduring love, told simply, humourously, entertainingly, with great pathetic moments punctuating the comic episodes that are part of the narrative. The background of the tale is London, and here are shown the veal London streets, the homes of the poor and the mansions of the rich. The supporting programme has some good comedy in the farce "By.Might of His Right," the Pathe Gazette, and a fine War Topical "German Blockhouses."
