WILL SINK OR SWIM WITH THE MOTHER. COUNTRY. (Received May 8, 9.15 a.m.) LONDON, 7th May. At the dinner of the Foremen Engineers' Spciety Mr. T. P. D'Connor proposed the " Allied Forces." Mr. T. J. Ryan (Premier of Queensland) was given an ovation when, he rose to respond. Australia, he said, might have made safe but inglorious terms with Germany, but she preferred an honourable if perilous course. She would sink or swim with the Mother Country, at whose disposal Australia had placed all her resources in men and money. Mr. Ryan and his wife visited the wounded Australians at King George's Hospital. They are arranging to entertain a. number of the soldiers at a matinee at the Coliseum. Mr. Ryan nopes to see every invalided Australian in England.
