WATERSIDE CONDITIONS
A REPRESENTATIVE CONFER- - ENCE.
Only a few waterside unions will be unrepresented at the New Zealand Conference called by the local union for 6th December to consider the question oi wages and conditions generally along the waterfront. The Auckland, Gisborne, New Plymouth, Napier, Westport, Lyttelton, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, Bluff, and Wellington Unions will have delegates,-but ' Onehunga, Greymouth, and Nelson have intimated that they will not be represented. Foxton has not yet replied, and the Port Chalmers Union is holding a meeting to-night to discuss whether or not it will send a delegate. The reply of the Greymouth Union was "No funds. Won't stand. Sorry." The conference will be held in the Accountants' Chambers, and will probably last about four days.
