ALLEGED BREACH OF GAMING ACT
IN THE AUCKLAND QUEEN CARNIVAL.

AUCKLAND, This Day. In the Magistrate's Court, John Thomas Lee, secretary of the Licensed Victuallers' Committee in connection with the Queen Carnival, was charged with having sold a ticket in respect of a lattery or scheme prohibited by the Gaming Act. The lottery was to be determined by the result of the Auckland Cup, though pictures were nominally the prizes offered. An application for an adjournment was granted the defence to secure evidence from Wellington
