FAMILY JARS
At the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon, before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M., Thomas Johanssen, coachbuilder, was charged with unlawfully assaulting Sarah G-oodin. The complainant's niece is married to defendant, and both families occupied apartments at Seaview House, in Yule-street, Kilbirnie. The dispute arose over common rights to the kitchen, and plaintiff alleged that defendant knocked her down three times. This was confirmed by her two daughters, one being a little girl, who cried when placed in the witness-box, but gave her evidence quite clearly. The plaintiff's husband also gave evidence on behalf of his wife. I Mr. H. Jb\ O'Leary, who appeared for defendant, asked at the conclusion of the evidence : "Is there anything to answer, your Worship." Mr. Cooper : " No. The case is too trivial altogether." The information was dismissed, with £1 Is costs.
