RAROTONGA. RESIDENT COMMISSIONER. rfIHE Office of Resident Commissioner JL for the Cook Islands at Rarot'onga will shortly be vacant. It is desired that the Commissioner should be qualified to act as a Judge of the High Court of the Islands, and the ordinary administrative duties are such as to require legal training. The Government invite members of the legal profession who have been ad; mitted to practice in any part of His Majesty's Dominions, and who are prepared to accept the position, to make application in writing to the Hon. Dr. Pomare, Minister in. Charge of the Cook\ Islands, before the 31st October, 1915. The appointment will be for three years from the Ist January, 1916, subject to the right of the Government to terminate it by three months' notice if the Commissioner fails in any respect to perform his duties to the satisfaction of the Government. Salary, £700 per annum. The Commissioner will be required to reside in the Cook Islands during the whole of his term of office unless granted leave of absence by the Governor of New Zealand. Return Trains will leave Opaki Racecourse at 5.15 and 5.50 p.m., Masterton arr. 5.25 and 6.0 p.m. The ordinary train leaving Masterton at 5.26 \ p.m. for Woodville will leave Opaki Racecourse at 5.40 p.m. The 2.20 p.m. train from Woodville to Wellington will leave. Opaki Racecourse at 5.15 p.m. This train will be a passenger train to Wellington, and will stop where required to set down passengers. The 5.50 p.m. special from Opaki Racecourse will connect with this train at Masterton. All trains, including the 7.50 a.m. Wellington- Woodville, and 12.57 p.m. Wood-ville-Wollington trains will, if required, stop opposite Opaki Racecourse for passengers, i BY ORDER.
