o VOLUNTEER WORKERS WANTED. The Record Branch of the Defence Department is overworked, and a call has been made for volunteer assistants. Already sixty helpers have responded to the _ call. Mrs. Algar Williams has organised a section of twenty ladies to do clerical work between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. ; Mr. H. F. Yon Haast, president of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Law Society, has secured helpers to work from 2 to 5 p.m. ; and Mr. P. Verschaffelt, Secretary to the Public Service Commissioners, has guaranteed to find twenty clerks to carry on the service in the evening. The volunteer helpers will commence work on Monday.
